Bernice has held licensure as a professional counselor (LPC) since 1995. She has worked in the counseling field for over 35 years with the last 25 years being in leadership.  

Bernice’s clinical training is primarily in family and trauma treatment models.  Her direct service work centered around family therapy and those who have experienced some form of trauma. She believes that most individuals can best heal when family relationships and dynamics can be improved for all.  

In leadership, her experience with a vast array of programs, sites, facility and community systems and support services.  She was responsible for all areas of management including budgets, fiscal status management, outcome measurement, regulatory and licensure compliance, and consumer satisfaction.  

She has extensive experience in program development and expansion identifying community needs and services that will meet that need.  She has focused on funding expansions through grants and contract negotiations, as well as building trusted relationships with key stakeholders in the human services field.
