CART Program

In July of 2025 Parkside Psychological Associates celebrated a 32-year history of providing specialized assessment and treatment services for individuals struggling with problematic sexual behavior through it’s program, the Community Abuse Response Team (CART). CART was established in July 1993 in Crawford County, PA as a community-based, treatment program for adult incest offenders and their family members. In the years that followed the program expanded to offer specialized evaluation and treatment services in Erie and Crawford counties to adult males and females convicted of sexual offenses as well as services to adolescents in Erie, Crawford and Mercer counties adjudicated for sexual crimes. CART accepts referrals from and works closely with the offices of County Adult and Juvenile Probation, PA. State Probation and Parole and Federal Probation and Parole. In 2004 the CART program was also approved by the PA Sexual Offender Assessment Board to offer treatment services to individuals designated by the court as Sexually Violent Predators. Audrey Smith, assisted in the creation of the CART program, and has served as its director since its inception. She is also privileged to serve as a member of the PA Sexual Offender Board.
