Chance Nelson, MS LPC
(814) 807-0861
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who strongly believes in having a person-centered approach to treatment. I strive to treat every person with respect and bring a non-judgmental stance to the clients I treat.
Individuals who have experienced difficult life events may endure lifelong detriments, isolation, feelings of low self-worth, anxiety, and depression in addition to the development of maladaptive coping mechanisms if left untreated. I work to assist clients with these challenges so that they can work towards a life worth living; a life that is meaningful and purposeful.
My clinical background includes working with adults in both group and individual therapy sessions, in addition to working with children and families. I have experience in trauma work, treating mood disorders/severe mental illnesses/personality disorders, as well as working with individuals and families in crisis. My strengths include navigating conflict and very challenging situations in addition to being flexible and open minded. I strive to create a healing environment where I am mindful, compassionate, and understanding as I walk with my clients towards growth and recovery.
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gannon University, of which is a CACREP accredited program. In addition to my education, my life experiences and dedication to understanding people’s behaviors, I have developed many strengths and skills over the years. I believe that education is only part of being a good clinician, but understanding is the real key to progress.
I received my initial License in 2021 in addition to having received trainings in TF-CBT, IFS, diagnosis/treatment of Personality Disorders, Telehealth for Mental Health Professionals, Trauma Informed Living, Identifying and Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect, Autism Early Intervention for Providers, Therapist Self-Care Compassion Fatigue and Secondary Traumatic Stress, as well as Interpersonal Conflict Effect Anger Management Strategies.

Our team of experienced therapists and compassionate support staff are here for you.
We look forward to meeting you.
