I began my career as a crisis counselor working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes. Providing trauma informed crisis counseling to those victimized by others was a passion of mine for ten years. This experience provided a well-rounded view of working with not only survivors, but systems such as the criminal justice system, children and youth, hospitals and other community resources. 

I transitioned into working with Army soldiers that are struggling with drugs, alcohol or suicidal thoughts for the past three years. Providing an ear to soldiers struggling with PTSD and addiction has taught me a great deal about trauma and how to work within a career field that can sometimes push back from a trauma informed approach. I believe that a trauma informed approach can save lives and make people feel heard, safe, and respected. 

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2020 and a Master’s of Science in Forensic Psychology in 2022 specializing in Military Psychology.  I have overseen the PA Army National Guard Suicide Prevention Program, advocated for trauma informed approaches and safety for soldiers in crisis and suicidal situations and sat on a committee to advise The Adjutant General of the Army National Guard on how to make out of the box changes for mental health in the service. 

 I also provide education and training to my local community on homelessness, how to change stigma surrounding homelessness and why people find themselves homeless. I run a soon to be non-profit that supplies basic necessities to the local homeless population and connects the homeless population to services that can help.
