“The reason I chose to come to Parkside and remain for so many years is that I am constantly surrounded by deeply caring and devoted individuals who are willing to journey through the process of healing and recovery of those who have experienced significant trauma and tremendous loss.

My work in mental health began in 1982 as a volunteer providing movement therapy to adults with severe mental illness. I believe that healing is relational and is the result of creating a sacred space that is safe and allows me to be fully present to my client’s experiences and mindful of their thoughts and feelings. I have used cognitive behavioral therapy, eco-systemic structural therapy, and person-centered therapy to assist others in discovering new and fulfilling ways to experience their lives. I have worked as a residential aid serving adults returning back to the community after state hospitalization, as a drug and alcohol counselor for the Department of Defense, vocational rehabilitation case management, as an intensive treatment therapist for dual diagnosed adolescents, in home therapy, family based mental health and many years as a therapist specializing in trauma therapy as well as the treatment of those who have committed sexual offenses.
I also have the pleasure of providing professional clinical supervision for therapists working toward licensure.
